Picture Tips For Your Ebay Listing

If you sell on eBay, then you know that your sale price is directly affected by your listing page. The more effective your listing is, the better you will do with your auction. One of the most important parts of your listing is your pictures. Here some suggestions on how to make your pictures better.

Include as many pictures as you can.

The more pictures you can include in your listing, the better. The more pictures that your prospective bidder sees, the more confident they will be in knowing exactly what they are bidding on. The more confident a visitor is, the more likely they are to place a bid on your item.

Ebay limits you to only one free uploaded picture. Any pictures beyond the one free one will be charged according to the fee schedule in force at that time. To economically have a lot of pictures in your auction you might want to use a pictures hosting service. Search in Google for eBay picture hosting and you should get a good list of alternatives.

Make sure your pictures are in focus.

Sounds silly to have to put this in, but you would be amazed at how many out of focus pictures are published into sellers listings. It is very annoying for a buyer to see a picture of your item and not see it clearly. This creates doubt in your visitors mind and will make it less likely that they will place a bid.

Take close ups of your item.

Another mistake many sellers make is to shoot a picture of an item so far away that you can’t really tell what it looks like. The closer you can get to your item when taking photographs, the better. The more small details you can show in your pictures the better.

Take pictures of your item from different angles.

You want your visitor to see your item from every possible angle. You do not want to leave anything to your potential bidders imagination. Show them your item from as many angles as possible so that they can see every part of your item. They should be able to see the front, back, left side, right side, top, and bottom.

Make sure you have enough light.

The biggest mistake most sellers make with their pictures is to create pictures that are too dark. If your picture is too dark then your visitor will not be able to see your item clearly.

Proper lighting is one of the most important parts of any photograph. Proper lighting of an item you are photographing can be difficult. An easy way to get great lighting is to take your pictures outside on a bright day. Your lighting will be naturally balanced and you should have plenty of light.

If you have to shoot inside, see if your flash is sufficient to light you item properly. Flash will not produce a satisfactory picture in many instances. Flash is difficult to use for close ups. Flash is hard to use if your item is reflective. If flash does not work, use some table lamps or better yet some desk lamps that can be positioned near or over the item. Try to use daylight bulbs to get the correct color.

Your sales success on eBay is only going to be as good as your listing. Your listing is only going to be as good as your pictures. If you follow the basic suggestions outlined here, you will have better pictures and therefore a better listing.
