Have you noticed a great many homes and dealerships have been vacated. Many of them end up at the government auction. Where once stood sprawling land mark dealerships, there is now what looks like abandoned ghost towns.

Our declining economy no doubt has a great deal to do with it. Dealerships with no choice but to go bankrupt have had financial institutions and the federal government reposes and seize their inventories.

This includes homes and autos as well. Due to the enormous expense to store these autos, they must be auctioned off at extremely discounted prices.

Thousands upon thousands of people in America are defaulting on car loans and house mortgages everyday. This failing condition leaves the cars and homes up for grabs at the government auction. A good thing for someone in the market for a good deal on a car or home or just about anything that’s being auctioned off.

What you can purchase at the government auction is far from being used junk. In fact much of what you will find is in mint condition and fully functional. The homes may sometimes need a little work, but for the price you purchase it, Who cares?

You can acquire almost anything at the government auction. Most of it for a lot less than you would normally pay elsewhere. The government auction have for along time been a closely guarded resource used only by the dealerships. They are usually not advertised to the general public.

There are a few who have acquired accessing rights and made them available to their members. As a result the government auction members can take full advantage of some of the most unbelievable bargains ever. Some of up to 90% book value.

The process of bidding is really not complicated at all. So remember my friend, you don’t have to live in some tore up delappadated shack or tool around town in an old beat up bucket, just put a little cash together and go down to the government auction. Be sure to take a little more than $100.

By: Lawrence Blake

About the Author:

Buying cars from government repossession auctions can sometimes be tedious and stressful.

That is because there are a lot of beautiful and great cars that are always being auctioned at such trading activities, and being a shopaholic that you are, you practically would want to get hold of all those cars you have set your eyes at.

Thus, it would be advisable and helpful for you to take into consideration the following practical guidelines that would help you buy government repossession cars at public auctions at cheap prices.

1. Repossession cars sold by the government at public auctions are to be considered second-hand commodities. That is why it just follows that the prices of these merchandise should also fit that for second-hand products. Government auctions selling cars are ought to dispose and sell repossessed cars at cheap prices.

However, because the process is still an auction, people bid and trump each other’s tenders, sometimes leading the car prices to significantly rise up. When that happens, make sure you are willing to take all the price hikes and that you would not resent paying premiums for a second hand car.

2. Seek expert or professional advice regarding the particular car of your choice you want to buy from the government repossession car auction. That is because sometimes, there are technical aspects of car-buying that are not familiar to you. There are jargons and engine specifications that you still know a little about.

Additionally, prices are sometimes not proportional or fit for the repossessed car at auction. It would not hurt bringing along a friend or an expert when inspecting a repossessed vehicle at a government auction.

3. Check the repossessed car at its entirety. There might be unexposed and undiscovered flaws and defects that when exposed would help drive down the tag price of the repossessed car being auctioned. The government might sometimes unintentionally conceal such minor or even major defects because, for all you know, it might have not practically discovered the problem in the first place.

4. Start at a low and cheap bid. If there are already existing bids, make sure if you aim to trump or outbid them, you just add a little amount on top of the currently existing highest bid.

If the bidding process goes on, and the tag price become unreasonably high and impractical, better let the repossessed car go. For sure, there would be other cars in auction that are far better and superior than that contested one. Do not stop looking for a great and cheap buy.

5. If you have already closed a deal, make sure you talk to the proper authorities regarding the payment arrangement you are more comfortable to pursue.

The payment scheme could either be in cold cash, which usually comes in great discounts as rewards, in checks, which need further arrangements and guarantees, and through a combination of both, but in installment terms. Make sure to pave the way and set the arrangements clearly and properly before closing on the deal.

If you really want to buy cheap cars from government repossession auctions, the most important thing you should always bear in mind is to maintain your focus.

Focus on your aims, the car’s tag price and the flow of the bidding and make the quick judgment whether you still want to get hold of that car. Good luck!

By: Anthony Lee

About the Author:

If you’ve never heard of or attended government repo auctions then you don’t know what you are missing. There are deals to be had on repossessed and seized cars and real estate at one of these free public auctions that can’t be beat anywhere. If you 18 years of age or older and have a valid drivers license or ID you can participate in one of these money saving events.

There are two types of items you will find at a government repo auction; repossessed and seized properties obtained through criminal investigations and prosecutions, and defaults on loans or owed back taxes. The government uses these auctions to save money on storage costs for the large amounts of properties they seize each and every month. They also are able to recoup much of the administrative costs associated with processing these goods saving the tax payers hard earned money.

Because the government is not interested in making a profit but simply wants to cover their costs the starting bids at these auctions are usually very low. If you research your choices before hand there is a good chance you can save big on whatever you choose to bid on.

Here’s what you’ll find at one of these free government auctions:

1. All makes and models of vehicles. You will find cars, trucks, SUVs, RVs, and motorcycles at well below market value. Many of these vehicles are less then a year old and are in excellent condition. Most of the seized vehicles are a result of law enforcement arrests and prosecutions which means in many cases they are high end vehicles. Being able to score a luxury sedan, sports car, or tricked out SUV for less then Blue Book value is one of the big draws of these auctions.

2. All types of real estate that includes single family homes, luxury vacation homes, and businesses with all the equipment, commercial property, and undeveloped land. For those who are looking to use real estate as an investment tool a government property auction can be a great place to start.

Participating online is also an option in the internet age. The internet auction sites provide updated listings of when and where these auctions are taking place along with updated listings of all the items that can be bid on. This gives you the chance to do the necessary research before hand which can help you decide what things are worth and what type of bid package you are comfortable with.

By: Andrew Bicknell

About the Author:

State government auctions are typically held on an annual basis, but each state will have its own schedule. These tips will help you find and prepare for the auctions that are held in your own state by giving you advice on what to expect, what to bring with you, and what kind of prices to prepare for.

When Are The Auctions?

To find out when local state government auctions will be held near you, all that you need to do is simply contact the sheriff’s department, fire department or city chamber of commerce for a schedule. Each of these departments will have some items that are being auctioned each year, and will be able to give you information about the next auction in your state. Both local city and state offices have auctions each year.

If you live in a small rural city, then you may find that auctions are held less frequently. In larger areas, such as cities, the auctions are held more often to ensure enough storage space for the goods that are confiscated for auction in the upcoming months.

Who Has Auctions?

There are several different agencies and institutions that hold state government auctions. For example, banks, while not necessarily state government, will hold auctions on foreclosed homes throughout the year in cities across the nation. The police department also has auctions, which can include many different types of items that have been confiscated and never reclaimed. Many local departments also have auctions.

What Can I Buy?

In addition to foreclosed homes, you can also purchase items such as large machinery, including tractors, cars and personal home items. Radios, furniture, office accessories and even computers are all widely available at state government auctions. You may find that as time for the auction draws near, the agency responsible for the auction will provide a complete listing of the items that are to be auctioned off.

What Should I Bring?

To buy certain items from a state government auction, you will need to have a valid ID. For example, if you want to purchase a car that is being auctioned off, in most states you will need to be at least eighteen and have a driver’s license to buy the car. You will also need to bring your checkbook or cash to the auction. Most state auctions require payment for all items immediately following the auction.

Luckily, when you purchase goods from a local state auction you will not have to worry about paying any registration fees, which are common in online government auctions. If you do need to pay registration fees, then you will pay them before the auction begins, and will not be refunded even if you do not purchase anything. The fees will help pay for the costs associated with the auction. If you have been looking for a specific item, then state government auctions are a great place to begin your search, and can save you money.

By: Jayson N Park

About the Author:

There are lots of cars that are sold online especially on government car auctions sites which are half of their original price. This gives the citizens a chance to bid in any of these auctions. You need to learn how to buy government auctions and where to find them so that you can start your bid.

Check the cars from the Federal Surplus Vehicle Auctions. The surplus cars that you will find here are from the federal agencies like the Department of Justice. When it comes to the car conditions, they are excellent and well maintained ones because the agencies have strict rules in conditioning their government cars. This is one of the agencies where you will know how to buy government auctions.

There are also vehicles from the Department of Energy. If you are looking for a well sized vehicle, check the DOE. The cars they auctioned are those that reach certain age or mileage. They do not auction cars that are not in good condition, so you can be sure that it is well maintained.

There are auctioned cars in the General Services Administration Fleet that you can take a look. Everyday, these cars are sold online. Most of the cars auctioned here are US government pre-owned cars, vans, and trucks. They are for sale in live auctions and online auctions.

Another agency where you can get surplus cars and how to buy government auctions is from the US Marshals Service Forfeited Property. You can get the forfeited, court ordered vehicles from their online websites. These government agencies will help you how to buy government auctions.

By: Kay Marie

About the Author:

If you have never bid on government auction sites before then you are in for a treat if you have the patience to deal with auction sites and the time needed to win that item that you’re currently going after. More and more sites on the Internet now have closeout specials from big retailers, government offices, and just about any place that has more than they need to be found at these auctions sites.

Generally the way these sites work is you locate the item that you wish to bid on and if the bidding process is already in progress then you need to register with a specific site, and on some occasions you purchase bids that are used against any items that you bet on. You then enter the bidding process and then from that point on it basically becomes a time game where you are bidding with others until the clock runs down. So what are some of the best sites on the Internet?

What you’ll find when looking for auction sites, is that a lot of them now carry both government and private products so there is no such thing as a strictly government site or a private auction site, each site will more than likely carry a diverse range of products from many distributors.

Federal government auctions are one of the most cost-effective ways available to purchase a wide selection of items, including furniture, cars and even homes. There are literally dozens of websites that offer you government auctions online, but to find a reliable auction site, you will have to do a little research.

What to Look For In An Auction Site

First, you will want to look for a federal government auction site that is reliable. You can often simply check for reliability by doing a search online using the name of the auction site. Any complaints will show up, giving you peace of mind to bid and make deposits on the items that you are interested in. This step only takes a few minutes, and ensures you have a reliable auction site.

Next, you may want to check the bidding fees that are associated with the site. Often, you will find that you need to make a deposit of several hundred dollars to register for bidding. This amount may be refundable, but not always. One thing that you may want to note is that official government auction sites will not charge any fee to bid on an auction, but you will not be able to purchase items like foreclosed homes on these sites. The costs will vary from site to site, but the cost is worth the savings you will find.

What Can I Buy?

The items that you are able to purchase at federal government auctions online will also vary depending on the site that you are using. For example, some website sell homes exclusively, while others offer items that range from tools and furniture to cars. Each listing will have the state, current bid, and ending time for the auction, making it simple to bid. You will need to register for both government and third party sites.

Registration

To register for federal government auctions, you need to have some basic information ready, including your credit card number. Obviously, you will want to make sure you are using a reputable website when you provide your financial information to anyone. If you are using an official government website, the information that you provide will be used only to verify your income and to provide payment for items that you purchase.

Buying Items

Typically, you will find that there are items listed from many different regions of the United States. While federal government auctions offer goods to people everywhere in the nation, the items will need to either be picked up or shipped to you after purchase. In most cases, you will need to make these arrangements yourself. The auction company may provide storage for several days while awaiting pickup from buyers, however.

One of the best things about buying from federal government auctions is that you will have a wide selection of goods that you can choose from at a very low price. You can find government auctions right online, giving you the convenience of shopping from home, as well.

By: Jayson N Park

About the Author:

Live government auctions have been taking place since the birth of this nation, but as of late, these auctions are now making their way online thanks to a handy little invention known as the internet. If you’re skeptical or unclear as to why an online auction is so great, allow me to explain. The reason is quite simple actually and can best be summed up in a word: convenience. Online auctions are not only convenient because you don’t have to leave your home to participate, but let’s say you ultimately win an item – 95% of the time that item can be shipped directly to your door for little or no charge! It’s that simple.

With already established online auctioneer websites like eBay and Amazon, many people do not realize that they could potentially get a much better deal on goods sold at an online government auction. The main reason is because the government is not looking to make a profit on goods like private auctioneers are. The appealing thing about online government auctions is that there are various types; ranging from surplus cars and trucks to seized jewelry and real estate auctions. All of this stuff is out there and the best part is that it’s conveniently available for online bidding.

Just in case you didn’t already know, a surplus property auction is where you can find amazing deals on just about anything. Items typically range from automobiles and trucks to industrial machinery and office equipment. The term surplus basically means that any type of excess or unused property by the government will be offered up to the public via their auction.

Seized property auctions generally tend to sell the same types of goods as a surplus auction, however there is a significant difference. Seized property auctions sell goods of a much higher caliber. The reason for this is because the merchandise and constant weekly influx of goods are not excess but confiscated, either due to illegal activities on the part of the previous owner or there was a failure to finish making payments on that particular item. Jewelry, for example, is a hot commodity on the online auction block. Each week the government receives hundreds of seized rings, watches, and necklaces and auctions them off for a mere fraction of what was originally paid for them. As previously stated, the government isn’t seeking to make a profit off of these items, they simply want to move their merchandise as quickly as possible to make room for the arrival of the following week’s shipment of goods.

If you’re interested in participating in an online government auction like the ones mentioned, then check out GovernmentAuctions.org Their website is an online aggregation of government auction information that can provide you with a multitude of different online government auctions websites. Are you a bit more old-fashioned and prefer to attend a live auction? They have auction information for them too! In addition to government auctions you can also find information on tax lien and tax deed sales, not to mention the access to over 100,000+ foreclosures. While you can participate in any of these, I recommend that you save yourself the time and trouble and try out online government auctions first!

By: Mark Moyo

About the Author:

Are you aware of the Government motorcycle auctions? It is a realty that faces many of us if not all of us that cash is hard to come buy. This is needles to say in the current economic climate characterized by massive job loses, diminishing buying power as well as diminishing disposal income. Despite the foregoing all of us still have those things we can categorize as our needs and wants. Despite the grim economic reality you may still be keen to get yourself that motorcycle of your dreams. As much as you may not even think of getting your self a new motorcycle from the mainstream motorcycle dealers it does not mean that all avenues are shut to you. This is where Government motorbike auctions come in.

Government motorcycle auctions have a broad range of repo properties that constitute the new and old cars and motorcycle models. So where do you get all the needed information about the auctions? The best place that you need to get at is the internet. The advantage of searching online is that you have the whole wide world at your disposal. Over the internet you can access as many directories as there are online and the advantage of searching online is that you have handy options of narrowing down your search to exactly that which you want.

For more information on Government motorbike auctions you also need to check in your local newspapers. Many authorities that deal with such sales often patronize the local media and auction listings in the newspaper ads sections. Get hold of all these sources of information so that you can contact the relevant leads and be in a position to make arrangements to view or inspect what the particular government motorcycle auction has in store.

The phase of inspection will enable you to establish if the market has really what you. This is important for you because sometimes you may make all the necessary preparations to participate in the auction yet the sale may not have that which you want. When you get hold of the relevant offices promptly you will be in a space to establish what you need through making use of the inspection privilege. Some actions have liberal auction rules and regulations while others are quiet strict.

In order to get to that government motorcycle auction which has the motorcycle of your dreams you got to widen your search and make it point that you do not settle for anything until you have exhausted all the options in the Government motorcycle auctions at your disposal.

By: Alfian Haris

About the Author:
